Wow! What amazing experience I’ve had so far as a new model in SL. I’ve attended two wonderful modeling academies and am now ready to take my place on the runway. I can hardly believe it! As I reflect on my experiences a thought occurs to me; I should write a bit about the journey I’m on for those who are thinking of becoming a model. So, here it is.
While in school, I had lots of fun and met some brilliant people. However, it wasn’t an easy ride and there was quite an investment involved. Furthermore, this modelling stuff was a total mystery and I was rather awkward. Although I’ve been in SL from the start, I felt like a complete noob in class. I’ve been known to be clumsy at the best of times and was pretty sure I’d find a way to embarrass myself. Really, I hadn’t a clue what to do and was in awe of the process. But, with a lot of hard work and hours of practice, I managed to make it through the training unscathed. Mind you my career is only starting so I’ll keep you posted on future mishaps!
A Good Start
Let me tell you a bit about the schools I went to. The first was Glance Model Academy. I chose this school for two reasons; it came highly recommended by a top model from my home, Costa Rica Sims; and I could choose my hours for one-on-one classes. I was thankful that the academy’s manager, Roe Woodford who saw my potential and let me in. I also appreciated that I had a patient instructor who taught me what I needed to get started. Thank you so much Trage. Glance has a long list of highly accredited and succesful alumni and I’m proud to be a graduate.
The second school was the new Costa Rica Sims Modeling Academy. I was excited to be a student in the very first class of this incredible up-and-coming school. I was truly impressed with the calibre of industry experts they brought in to teach us as well as the tools and high-end clothing they provided. They spared no expense and gave good value for my L’s. Furthermore, I found their standards to be high and the staff were all so supportive. Florentine Rau, the academy manager is a brilliant woman who takes a vested interest in all of her students. I’d highly recommend both of these schools to any aspiring model.
After graduating from the CRS Model Academy, I was given my first big break. I guess I got something right as I had the honor of being invited into the prestigious Costa Rica Sims Productions. Although I’ve had to take a bit of a break due to rl obligations. I can’t wait to get back in full swing and participate in their fabulous fashion shows. As I embark on this journey into the fashion world I hope to someday be able to use my experiences to help and inspire others. But whatever I do, I intend to represent my academies well and make those who have supported me proud.
